REPRODUCTION — Photoshot research 01–02

Use Node 24 and the public source repository at https://github.com/Abraham721/photoshot
Check out commit 19f45ed6dd99800f910c0587baa53e73d46ab4fb (v0.16.0), then install its locked dependencies with npm ci.
Download verify-research.mjs.txt as verify-research.mjs into the repository root.
Download brightness-results.json from the article into the same directory.
Run: node verify-research.mjs

This verifies the mask diagnostic and 27 retained gray outputs.
It writes new results under research-reproduction/.
The author separately compared the complete response tables with the archived calibration JSON; that check is not claimed by this public harness.
The archived full-chart mean errors cannot be recomputed without the original Photoshop reference PNGs, which are unavailable in the reviewed folder.
The diagnostic is native Canvas/source-level, not browser UI automation.

Source excerpts and source-listings.json contain exact commit identities.
Figures are editable-text SVGs; their mobile variants rearrange panels.
